PO Box 224, 6734 Main Street
Mackinac Island, Michigan 49757
Open May ~ October
Located on Main Street and just a short walk to town, this four bedroom, private bath home provides all the modern amenities for your Mackinac Island Vacation. A perfect setting for a few days vacation or a gathering of family and friends, wedding party or business groups. The entire house is available for rent by the night, weekly, or enjoy as a full service B & B.
The Jacob Wendell House is a Federal Colonial Era family home built in 1846. Spacious living areas, partial water views, and wooden verandas surrounding the home make it a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The large fenced in front yard offers plenty of room for outdoor activities.
For the past several decades, The Jacob Wendell House was known as Bay Cottage. Following much research, we have decided to give the cottage back its original name to preserve and share this home’s history. We hope you will enjoy the charm and history of this home as much as we have and we look forward to your visit.
Sincerely,
The Gale Family
About Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island is located in the straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet between Michigan’s
Upper and Lower Peninsulas.
In 1898, the city of Mackinac banned horseless carriages and today the same is true. Transportation is by horse and
carriage, bicycle or feet which lends to the charm of Mackinac Island.
What Our Visitors Say
We used the whole Jacob Wendell home and Carriage House for a week with family and friends. Had a great time. So close to everything. Kristen was so helpful throughout and Barb was onsite to help with any questions. We look forward to returning! See my longer review on Google.
